Meeting philip reeve !!
A while ago , I , along with around hundreds of other children from England, entered a review writing competition. We were the 12 lucky winners and guess what our prize was? Meeting Philip Reeve, an incredible opportunity! We travelled by tube to the centre of London and excitedly waited outside the building where a life changing event awaited us. I thought it would be a formal gathering, just a few questions asked by us and a few snacks but no, it was an amazing experience. Philip Reeve had recently finished writing his book Railhead, but the book hadn't been published and it wasn't even out in bookstores yet ! We each received a signed copy, with mistakes and different ideas included that weren't in the final copy.
Then we got to ask lots of questions to Philip Reeve about previous books he had written, what inspired him to write Railhead, if he was going to write another book in the series. His illustrator and helper was also there - Sarah Macintyre. He added spoke about his personal life and his son, he was warm and friendly which made the event even more enjoyable.
Overall it was a fantastic experience and I advice you reading all of Philip Reeve's books, they are well written, very interesting and have some great characters too. My favourite books of his are the Mortal Engine series and the Railhead series.
