![]() Guy Montag is a fireman who burns books in a futuristic American city. Yes, you heard me right, BURNS. In Montag’s world full of wonder , firemen start fires rather than putting them out. Books are banned and burned upon discovery. In this strange world Montag meets Clarisse, his new neighbor. She is different. A wild, weird and wonderful type. For her, nature is the way forward and burning isn't right.... instead, people are expected to relinquish their individuality and be content with vapid radio. . Thinking is very dangerous. The title of the novel is the temperature at which paper burns. Farhenheit 451... Later that evening Montag finds his wife overdosed on sleeping pills. As his life slowly plummets into distress and despair he decides to take a chance and this changes his thinking forever. He starts seeing the light, stealing books, reading the bible. He gets swallowed into deep books and poetry until he finally settles on a plan. He decided to tell his wife's friend the tales, the inspiring characters and twisted plots. This was all a big mistake as Beatty knew too much... Guy Montag's boss was not "pleased" by the news, rather enraged perhaps. From here on Guy Montag knew his life would come to a gruesome end. Beatty commanded him to burn down his house but to her dismay he lights her up... Now a fugitive, an outlaw hated by society, Guy runs into the woods where he meets other book lovers, passionate like about all written things just like him. Then the city is bombed by a warring country, right before their eyes. Everyone is dead except for Montag and these book people in the woods. They decide to rebuild society, and Montag can start on a from a new slate.
