![]() Hey PageFlicker Fans! What have you been up to.....? Any good books you've read recently or any books you would like me to write a review on? Go ahead and write a comment and I will certainly read your recommendations. I recently devoured Sara Crossan's new book, Moonrise. It's all about a boy called Joe Moon who travels from New York to Texas risking everything to see Ed. Ed is his brother. A prisinor trapped in a cell with no light, no hope and nobody in his life. Charged with a death penalty for a crime he didn't commit, Ed is living his last days. His life was obliterated. He's crumbling to pieces and there is no more Ed left in him. No more smiles. No more laughter. Like his soul had vanished already, his body just waiting to catch up. But Joe has the will and heart to save him. To rescue his beloved brother from the misery and torment he lived through for ten years. Ten years he will never get back. He was wrongfully accused of a crime he didn't commit and this was the consequence. But Ed isn't as kind and friendly as Joe remembers. And what really happened on that night, the night he got arrested? This heartbreaking story will live with you. You come to love the strong characters and the way the book is written making you connect with everyone of them. I think this book is suitable for children aged 11-13 and I would rate it 9/10. Watch out, as this book may become a classic soon, valued for Sara Crossan's amazing ability of storytelling, especially through blank verse and relatable, vivd characters. This book is similar to One, another one of my favourite Sara Crossan books. If you haven't read it yet and would like a taste of the book, read my review on it below!
